Ethics can be classified into four parts, which can be called its dimensions.
The four parts or dimensions of ethics are :
1. Descriptive ethics
2. Meta-Ethics
3. Normative or prescriptive ethics
4. Applied ethics
Out of these four, normative ethics and applied ethics can be further classified into a number of sub-parts, which we will learn later.
Difference between the four Dimensions of Ethics :
Descriptive ethics: What do people think is right?
Meta-ethics: What does “right” even mean?
Normative (prescriptive) ethics: How should people act?
Applied ethics: How to apply ethics into practice?
