This is what it all comes down to – you’re sitting in the exam hall, waiting to get your hands on that anticipated piece of paper. You’ve jammed a ton of information into your brain and the irony is that pops out in bits and pieces. You tell yourself , don’t panic or this brain freeze could mean that you get a lower grade that you truly don’t deserve. The bell rings – it’s time to get down to business !

This is the tension in which every serious UPSC aspirant lives. It is these couple of hours that are decisive. One stroke here and there can practically cost you another year and a half !

To come out of the exam hall with flying colors, you have to ‘know your audience’ . Writing in a way that is authentically “you”, while still being sensitive to their needs is the way to conquer this exam. Your unique style will help you do this in a way that doesn’t compromise the integrity of your work.

Each of us may have multiple styles of writing, depending on the context. The trick is knowing when to use what and not getting pigeonholed.

Take some time to find your own style of writing — that specific way you pen words and craft sentences. Give it its due attention. It’ll be worth it. This process isn’t just about preparing an answer for a specific question, it’s about understanding how you approach a question in the exam, how to structure your answer, the timings you should assign and what information will get you marks.

But due to paucity of time, students tend to ignore on this front and the result is poor score in written examination.

Most students approach us with smiling faces after writing the exam , uttering a very common expression … ‘Sir, phooddd diya paper’ . Though it boggles our mind , but still , the satisfied face of our child leaves us contented.
However, the day the result is out , it brings with it a reality check . And believe me, it will leave an indelible scar on your confidence, your energy, your hopes, your morale and most importantly on your efforts and self efficacy in time to come.

It has been observed that besides having exceptional knowledge and command over the subject, candidates cannot crack the examination owing to poor writing skills. Mains exam calls for speed, consistency and clarity of thought and these can be acquired easily through writing practice.

A word of wisdom here , a stitch in time saves nine !

We, at CHROME IAS ACADEMY, with our experience, will guide you to enrich your overall preparation and provide you with a perspective which can enhance and brush up what is already in you ! We will walk along with you to fill in the gaps that will infuse in you the strength to confidently face the final day challenge.

Keeping in view the dynamic nature of the exam, this is what we want to inculcate in the student through our answer writing sessions and test practice – Answer writing that reflects your overall opinion credibility . After all , UPSC wants to know who you really are and check whether you are competent for the service or not.

Remember, the exam is not designed to trick you. All they want is to evaluate you on pointers like balanced decision making and moral integrity. Many questions you approach will look as though they seek a straightforward answer but in reality they want you to fully outline a structured perspective in limited space and limited time. There are certain elements of a balanced answer which makes it decent and scoring.

Our answer writing program will be touching on many such aspects and intricacies. This will add to your knowledge base and endow you with critical thinking abilities, one of the most important skill needed to write this exam.

Also, we will allot separate time to take up the queries, if any, of candidates who are writing Mains exam for the first time and of those who have written it earlier , so that the whole idea of improvement is truly realized .

Remember, good writing skills can miraculously step up your chances to get through Civil Services Examination !
